Highway 25 Wreck Kills 34-Year-Old Man

On Tuesday night, an accident on Highway 25 near Foot Hills Road, claimed the life one person. The accident occurred just south of Reedy River Baptist Church at approximately 10 p.m.

Law enforcement officials have identified the victim of the accident who was from Travelers West.

The accident involved a collision between victims car and a tractor-trailer. The automobile, traveling north on the highway, veered into the path of the southbound tractor-trailer.

The collision occurred on the drivers side of the victims vehicle. Upon impact, his vehicle was pushed down the roadway and came to a rest on the embankment on the opposite side of the highway.

Emergency responders to the scene included firefighters, officers with Travelers Rest Police Department, S.C. Highway Patrol troopers and emergency medical professionals from several agencies.

Officials closed Highway 25 from Foot Hills Road to Roe Ford Road as crews worked to reopen the lanes. While the cause of the accident is not clear, officials were able to report that victim was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
