The pollen refuses to leave South Carolina this year. Alternating warm and cold weather seems to have resulted in a perpetual pollen period for the state. As a result, there is a lot of sneezing, coughing and watery eyes. Of course, people turn to their favorite allergy medicine to help alleviate the symptoms.
Unfortunately, one of the main side-effects with many prescription and OTC allergy relief medication is drowsiness. And drowsiness poses a big hazard for drivers and many workers. It is important to make sure you know how a particular medication will affect you, prior to driving or going to work. If you cause an accident while taking medicine, you are still responsible for all damages caused. Drowsiness can reduce your reaction time and make you miss dangerous conditions. Don't be a threat to yourself or others. Use caution when taking medication.
