Man Hit & Fatally Injured By SUV On Tubbs Mountain Road

Authorities have just released details on a fatal accident that occurred at approximately 5:30 pm on Wednesday afternoon on Tubbs Mountain Road.
According to sources, local police saw a black SUV cross a double yellow line on Poinsett Highway and tried to stop the vehicle, however it sped off and turned onto Tubbs Mountain Road and resulted in the officer in pursuit to abandon the chase.
Shortly after, the officer drove back to Tubbs Mountain Road to discover a two car accident that involved the black SUV and Mr. Donald Ray Browna 70 year old man from Travelers Rest.
The force of the accident required Mr. Brown to be cut from his vehicle and flown to Greenville Memorial Hospital for treatment of his injuries. Upon arrival, Mr. Brown was pronounced dead according to B. Parks Evans of the Greenville County Coroner's Office.
Police are still investigating the incident.
