Harbin & Burnett would like to take this opportunity once again to urge driver safety. Apparently this accident was the result of an improper or unsafe pass on a rural two lane highway at night. Drivers must use caution when passing. First of all, only pass where legal. You should never pass with a solid yellow line. Solid yellow lines indicate that it is unsafe to pass. Possible reasons include too short of a sight line due to a hill or curve, another road intersecting with the road of travel, or a business location. Second, even if it is legal to pass, the passing driver must make sure that the oncoming lane is clear and he has ample space to clear the vehicle he is passing.
Please be careful when driving.
