The last few weeks have seen more rainy days than clear ones in South Carolina. The amount of rain is reflected in our lakes that are at full pool or higher and our luscious green yards. Unfortunately, we have reached the point where the ground has become saturated and dangerous conditions exist, where even minimal wind can cause trees to topple. Our local NBC affiliate, WYFF, had a reporter and cameraman killed by a falling limb while covering the weather. And, although it appears that the heavy rain has moved from our area, the local forecast still calls for a chance of afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms until at least Monday. By the end of August, we will probably be begging for rain in the area, but for now we have had enough.
