April means thunderstorms in South Carolina. As we enter April, now is a good time to review thunderstorm safety. First, do you know the difference between a thunderstorm watch and a thunderstorm warning? A thunderstorm watch means that conditions are right for the development of thunderstorms. A thunderstorm warning means the area is being affected, or about to be affected by a thunderstorm, and action needs to be taken immediately. Be careful when outdoors and monitor the skies. Have a way to recieve weather alerts, especially outdoors. Make sure your children are aware of what to do in a storm. For more information, visit the National Weather Service.
